Lord, We Lift Your Name on High.
Many of you have heard me talk over the years about how much the life and ministry of George Muller has personally impacted Robert and me. It has been said that the theme of his entire existence was to live a life that proved God is real; proved God still answers prayer; and proved that God is trustworthy - what He says, He will do. This has also, in many ways, become the theme of our own lives. In everything we do as a family and at Truth Spring, behind it all is an overwhelming desire to encourage Believers that it is not a vain thing to trust God.
One of the main areas we have seen God fulfill our desire to prove His trustworthiness, is in His asking us to do things that, apart from His divine provision, would be impossible. Truth Spring Academy is an example of that. Generally speaking, a private, Christian school is started by a church that has the resources to provide, or at least find, the resources to provide for the cost of operating the school. When God asked us to start Truth Spring Academy we knew that He was asking the impossible, because we were neither a church with that type of financial resource nor did we know where to find that type of financial resource. However, we took confidence in and chose to believe God for exactly what His word says - “Seek first My kingdom and My righteousness, and all you need will be provided (Matt. 6:33).” Day by day, month by month, and year by year, we never know exactly how God is going to provide for the needs of Truth Spring Academy. So day by day, month by month, and year by year, we pray and ask God for MUCH. This past Tuesday morning was no different from any other day, before he left for work, Robert and I were praying and we were asking. Specifically that day, we were praying Psalm 81:10 - “Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.” We were opening our mouths wide and expressing every need of the school before the Lord, and asking Him for much. Just a few hours later, we received the following text message from someone neither of us had ever talked with or expressed our needs to: “My husband and I would like to sponsor the upcoming 4th grade class. I believe the cost of sponsoring a classroom is $50,000. We can have the check to you by the first week of June.”
God is real; God still answers prayer; God is trustworthy - what He says, He will do! Truth Spring supporters, may we all find great confidence in the fact that it is not a vain thing to trust in God, and as a result, may we lift His name on high today!
